How long does a plan take?

About a minute. You can keep using the map while it works.

Can I change the plan?

Yes. It opens in the trip planner like any other trip: move stops, swap camps, add days.

Does it know my vehicle?

Yes. It plans on roads open to your vehicle and as rough as you've said you'll drive.

What if a road is closed?

Plan it for me checks the web for current closures and fire rules while it plans, the planner flags stretches closed to your vehicle, and the briefing checks again before you go.
